Getting There Accessible Options
Field of Light has dedicated Accessible Parking. ADA parking is free of charge with the purchase of an Exhibition ticket and is available on a first come, first serve basis.
Field of Light offers an Accessible pick-up and drop off location and accessible route to the main entrance of the Exhibition. The pick-up and drop off location will be marked and is located at 4810 La Crosse Ave, Austin TX 78739.
Patrons with Mobility Limitations
Please note that the Field of Light experience is an outdoors, self-guided walking tour. The trail is almost a mile and includes gravel and mulched pathways. While the Exhibition is wheelchair accessible, it is a large outdoor loop with some travel over natural terrain. If it should rain, there could be mud.
The Exhibition does not provide personal care, golf cart rides, or push service of any kind. However, we have a wheelchair available for guests to borrow at no charge at the Exhibition box office. Wheelchairs, power wheelchairs, and three or four-wheeled scooters are allowed only for use by patrons with mobility disabilities. For safety reasons, requests to use other power-driven mobility devices will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please visit Guest Services for information about where to charge powered wheelchairs. Patrons should bring all cords and accessories needed to charge their devices. Chargers must use a 110-volt, 20-amp circuit.
Accessible portable toilets are available next to each row of restrooms within the footprint of the Exhibition.
Special Dietary Needs
Outside food and drink is not allowed in the Exhibition, but if a patron has special medical dietary restrictions, items will be allowed.
Patrons are allowed to bring their medically necessary materials and medications into the Exhibition provided all medicine has a prescription label with the patron’s name. Out of concern of other Field of Light patrons and Wildflower Center staff, please dispose of materials in a safe and legal manner. Please do not dispose of these items in other trash receptacles at the Exhibition.
Service Animals at Field of Light
Pets are not allowed and will be turned away. Service animals are permitted throughout the Exhibition grounds, but this does not include emotional support animals, therapy animals, or companion animals. However, miniature horses and dogs, which have been trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability, are welcome.
If you are bringing a service animal, make sure to check in at guest services for registration. Only legitimate service animals that are properly trained and under the proper care of their owners will be provided with the appropriate credentials.
All service animals must remain by the handler’s side at all times and must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered, unless these devices interfere with the service animal’s work or the individual’s disability prevents using these devices. In that case, the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls.
Anyone bringing an animal will be responsible for and liable for any damage or injury caused by the animal. Service animal inquiries can be sent to info@fieldoflightaustin.com.
